Help FAQ

Registering - can't find the school in the dropdown

If the school is listed on the gov.uk schools information list then it will appear on SixIntoSeven. You can search for the school you want to register or connect with by entering their postcode with no spaces (e.g AB123CD).

Schools that are already registered will be displayed in grey.

The system says my school is already registered

If your school registered for/used SixIntoSeven in 2020 your user name and log in are still active. If you do not know which of your colleagues registered your school please contact us using the form opposite and we can add you as a new user.

I haven't received a verification email

To comply with GDPR and data sharing rules, we need you to verify that the email address you use you register your school with SixIntoSeven belongs to the school in question. We also need make sure our emails can reach you to that we can send you important system information. if you have entered your email address during registration and have not received an email, please complete the following steps:

  • Check your junk/spam folder if you haven’t already, and also ask your IT support to whitelist noreply@askeddi.com
  • Then you can go back to https://portal.sixintoseven.co.uk to log in, and after you enter your password you can request a new confirmation email.

If you still haven’t received an email you can contact us for further support using the form opposite.

Primary school hasn't received connection request email

For Secondary Schools: If a primary school has not received a system email with your invitation to connect, please ask them to check their junk email folder and add noreply@askeddi.com to their safe senders list.

Primary schools do not need to wait for the system invitation to register on the portal and accept school connections. Primary schools can register their school directly at https://portal.sixintoseven.co.uk and review all connection requests in the School Connections screen.

Pupils without a Unique Pupil Number (UPN)

SixIntoSeven uses the UPN as the unique identifier to match pupils between primary and secondary schools. It is a required field when schools upload pupils to the portal.

Secondary schools usually receive the pupil names and UPN when admissions are confirmed. If you have any missing UPN you can ask the primary directly or read the DfE guidance here: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/unique-pupil-numbers

Some pupils may come to a secondary school from an independent primary school. These pupils may not have a UPN. In the event a pupil does not already have a UPN we can help by generating a temporary pupil number that secondary schools can use instead of the UPN. Secondaries will then let the feeder primary know the temporary number so that they can add it to the relevant pupil and generate a match. Please contact us to request this.

Uploading CSV

If you are unable to upload your CSV file please check the following:

  • Ensure it is saved in the correct file format (.CSV)
  • Ensure all fields are complete. Each pupil must have first name, last name and UPN
  • Ensure you are uploading the correct file (some schools have tried to upload the empty template instead of the populated sheet!)

If you have checked all of the above and are still having difficulties please contact us for further assistance using the form opposite.

Information Published in error

Once Professional Judgements, Pupil Flags or Pupil Information Forms are published the information is considered final and shared with destination secondary schools. It is possible for our team to unpublish data but we advise users to only publish information when they have checked and verified it.

If you have published in error you should contact our support team using the form opposite and we will action the request.

Matching Information - Data Security

SixIntoSeven works by matching the UPN for the pupils between primary and secondary schools – so the primaries upload all of their pupils, the secondaries upload all of theirs, and they system matches using the UPN, only showing the matched pupils.

Pupil Information section says I don't have access

Pupil Information Forms are new for 2021 and restricted to the two pilot groups we are working with in Hounslow and Barking & Dagenham. This initiative is a brand new way of securely transmitting pupil information (SEND, wellbeing, pastoral) between primary and secondary schools to further streamline transition processes. We plan to roll out this feature to all participant schools next year.

If your secondary school is connected to primary schools that are part of an existing group, you may be able to opt in to join that group and receive their pupil information forms. Please contact us to find out more.
